About MONO JAPAN organic cotton tea towel

MONO JAPAN tea towel is designed by the Dutch designer Christien Meindertsma and produced in Banshu, Japan by Ae Handkerchief.

This tea towel is created at the time of MONO JAPAN 2018, as the first collaboration item by MONO JAPAN between the Dutch creator and the Japanese maker. And it is the first product of MONO JAPAN brand.

The design of the pattern is created by the renowned Dutch designer Christien Meindertsma, who designed one of the 2016/ Arita ware.

Christien created a fun and charming design for the tea towels, guiding AE HANDKERCHIEF with the use of organic materials as much as possible. She was very much in control of the production, not to make any waste and making it as organic as possible.

AE HANDKERCHIEF, as their name shows, their core business is the handkerchief, and are producing a stunning 60% of the handkerchiefs in Japan. Together with MONO JAPAN, they have taken the challenge to weave tea towels with the finest materials and sophisticated craftsmanship.
Ae Handkerchief realized the products with high quality, it shines like the silk scarf and the towel absorbs the water very good, and it dries fast.
