The Ruddy Kingfisher also called ''Phoenix'' because of its unique colors, is a migratory bird that comes to Japan in the summer and makes a call that sounds like ''Kyororo''. These birds are about 30 cm long, have soft beaks, and live on a varied diet of small frogs, fish, crabs, snails and lizards.
