Banshu Hamono scissors has been used for generations by bonsai keepers and ikebana artists. The ikebana scissors are traditionally made in koryu or ikenobo style and we carry Ikenobo style at our shop.
This traditional Ikenobo scissors opens widely and can cut different types of branches and flower stems. It has curls at the end of the handles inspired by the form of warabi – eagle ferns which you see in many Japanese cuisines. This curls lets you cut hard branches and stems easily. The sharp blades are set at a slight angle to cut the stem without crushing the plant fibers. Due to this engineered assembly of the blades, water is absorbed much better, keeping plants and flowers fresh longer.
The Ikenobo scissors is ideal for ikebana or floral arrangements, caring for your bonsai, plants and vegetable and any other type of gardening.
All handcrafted by one of the few Banshu blacksmith artisans in Japan.
