A 50 cm long bird with a beautiful, glossy black color with a green or purple sheen. Living in croplands, they smaller than the urban crow. They walk on the ground looking for foods like nuts and insects. In Japan, they are sacred birds believed to carry souls. There are myths of a 3 legged raven who is the messenger of the Kumano Gods.
