Gizzard Shad or "Kohada" are about 25 cm long. Known by different names as it grows, such as "Konoshiro" for the period between 7 to 10 cm or "Shinko" for the period between 4 to 5 cm. They have a body that is flat like a leaf and notable big black speck and small specks lined on the body. They are an essential ingredient for "Edomae" Sushi.

The patches can be ironed on cotton and polyester materials. Use a damp cloth under the iron when ironing, and be extra careful if you are ironing on heat-sensitive materials. Machine-stitching is recommended to enhance strength.
