Ray, "ei", is a cartilaginous fish with about 530 different species around the world. They are a flat, 70 cm long fish with long thin tails. Some species have poison in their tail spines. They live on the sandy and muddy sea floors, where they eat crustaceans. They are mostly used for paste products, but their dried fins which are called "Eihire" are also a popular snack while drinking alcohol.

The patches can be ironed on cotton and polyester materials. Use a damp cloth under the iron when ironing, and be extra careful if you are ironing on heat-sensitive materials. Machine-stitching is recommended to enhance strength.
