It became extinct around 1945 but was then revived again. Ideal Ranchu should have three tails without a dorsal fin. It has a hard head smaller than that of Lionhead from which it was bred, with grown balls on the nose instead of a hood. It is said to be closer to an archetype of a Ranchu.
