Zodiac “Horse” (午) Hariko Figure – With Omikuji Fortune
In the Japanese zodiac, the character 午 represents the horse—a creature revered since ancient times as a divine steed and a bringer of good fortune. Horses symbolize vitality, cheerfulness, and success, and their presence continues through expressions such as bariki (horsepower), shunme (a fine horse), and uma ga au (to get along well). The horse is believed to inspire energy and strength in people.
This charming figure is a traditional hariko papier-mâché toy, crafted partly with Awa Washi, a distinctive handmade Japanese paper.
Each piece contains an omikuji (fortune slip). After drawing your fortune, the figure can be kept as a decorative item to bring a warm touch to your space.
Additionally, these pieces are blessed at Manzoku Inari Shrine in Higashiyama, Kyoto.
