“Momotaro” Momotaro was born from a peach that floated down the river. On his way to Onigashima to defeat the demons, Momotaro befriends a dog, a monkey, and a pheasant, whom he feeds with rice cakes. After successfully defeating the demons, Momotaro and his friends return to the village and live happily ever after.
This fan is made using the “sashi-bata” technique, where the handle is inserted into the “uchiwa-men” (fan face) that creates the breeze. The vibrant Japanese paper collage depicts scenes of Japan. It can be used as an accompaniment to summer festivals or as decoration.
