Japanese Sewing Scissors - Tsume 120 mm Black “Blue Steel”

The Japanese sewing scissors (Nigiri Basami) of Banshu Hamono are hand forged from a single Japanese "ao-hagane" blue steel, which is excellent in its sharpness as well as durability for long-time use.

They are crafted to perfection by one of the last few craftsmen in this blacksmith area of Banshu region in Hyogo prefecture.

At MONO JAPAN STORE, we have selected the most versatile 105mm size, which is slightly longer than the normal ones.
These scissors are traditionally used to cut fabrics and threads because the cutting edge of the scissors is thin and sharp, but you can also use it for different purposes.MONO JAPAN STORE staff cherishes them for snipping the kitchen herbs and for embroidery.

Each piece of hand forged scissors is wrapped in local fabric (Banshu weave) cloth and comes in a Japanese washi paper box, making it also a perfect gift to your loved ones.
