tamaki niime Pop-up at MONO JAPAN STORE
One Loom, Endless Possibilities — 4–9 August 2026
MONO JAPAN STORE is pleased to present a special pop-up by tamaki niime, taking place from Tuesday 4 August to Sunday 9 August 2026.
Based in Nishiwaki, Hyogo — the birthplace of Banshu-ori, a traditional Japanese textile with over 200 years of history — tamaki niime creates one-of-a-kind textiles full of colour, texture, and warmth.
Living alongside sheep, alpacas, and other animals, tamaki niime makes textiles rooted in the rhythms of nature and everyday life. From dyeing yarn and weaving fabric to knitting, sewing, and finishing, every step of the process is carried out in-house with care, curiosity, and a deep respect for craftsmanship.
Rather than mass production, tamaki niime values creating singular textiles rich in individuality and character. Through slow making and a thoughtful circulation of materials, people, and land, the brand continues to explore a soulful and sustainable way of making cloth.

Featured Pieces
only one shawl
A signature piece at the heart of tamaki niime. Woven on vintage power looms from the 1960s, each shawl has a softness and texture reminiscent of handwoven cloth. These looms require skill and sensitivity, and only a limited number of experienced craftspeople can operate them. The result is a shawl with warmth, depth, and individuality — a piece to treasure over time, regardless of age or gender.
deniime
tamaki niime’s denim line is slowly woven in their Lab using vintage power looms from the 1960s. Available in a variety of colours, weights, and textures, deniime offers denim with a soft feel, unique character, and the unmistakable touch of careful craftsmanship.
wear
From tops and bottoms to knitwear and cut-and-sewn pieces, tamaki niime’s wear collection is filled with colour, comfort, and individuality. Each piece is designed to bring ease, expression, and joy to everyday life.
