Kintsugi
Kintsugi Collection
Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese repair technique that restores broken ceramics using natural lacquer (urushi) and gold powder. Rather than concealing damage, it highlights the cracks—embracing imperfection and giving each piece a renewed life and meaning.
In this collection, we introduce both authentic kintsugi kits and works by Kyoto-based lacquer artist Mio Hioki.
The kintsugi kits are made with genuine urushi lacquer, offering a traditional and professional approach to repair. Each kit includes an English manual, making this refined craft accessible even for beginners.
Mio Hioki is a lacquer artist based in Kyoto, working both as a restorer of ceramics and as a creator of contemporary pieces. Alongside her repair practice, she produces unique vessels and jewelry using kintsugi techniques—transforming traces of breakage into delicate, expressive designs.
