MONO JAPAN STORE is a platform specialising in Japanese craftsmanship, design and related products.
By accessing our website, placing an order or using our Services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and the policies referred to in them.
If you do not agree with these Terms & Conditions, please do not use our website or place an order.
2. Scope
These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of the MONO JAPAN STORE website and to purchases made through our online store.
They apply to consumers and other customers purchasing products through our website.
Your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable law are not affected by these Terms & Conditions.
3. Products and Product Information
We make every reasonable effort to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, dimensions, colours and other information on our website are accurate and up to date.
However, products made by hand or from natural materials may have variations in colour, texture, shape, size or finish. Such variations are not necessarily defects and may be part of the character of the product.
Colours may also appear differently depending on your monitor, device or screen settings.
We reserve the right to correct errors, update product information and change or discontinue products, subject always to applicable consumer law and to rights arising from orders already accepted.
4. Prices and VAT
All prices displayed on our website are in euros (€) and include VAT where applicable, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Shipping costs are displayed separately and are added to the order total before you complete your purchase.

For deliveries outside the European Union, additional import VAT, customs duties or other charges may apply. These charges are generally the responsibility of the recipient unless otherwise stated.
5. Payment
We offer payment methods through Shopify and the payment providers available at checkout.
The payment methods available to you may depend on your location and other factors.
Payment must be completed before an order is processed and shipped, unless otherwise agreed.
We do not store complete payment card details ourselves where payment is processed through a third-party payment provider.
6. Orders and Contract
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your order.
After placing an order, you will receive an order confirmation by email. This confirmation acknowledges that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted if we are unable to fulfil it.
A sales contract is concluded when we accept your order and confirm that the products will be supplied, subject to applicable law.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order in reasonable circumstances, including where:
- a product is unavailable;
- there is an obvious error in the price or product information;
- we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unlawful activity; or
- we are unable to fulfil the order for reasons beyond our reasonable control.
If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled order.
7. Availability
We do our best to maintain accurate stock information.
If a product becomes unavailable after you have placed an order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and, where appropriate, offer a refund or an alternative arrangement.
For products that are temporarily out of stock, we may provide an estimated availability or delivery date. Such estimates are not guaranteed unless explicitly agreed otherwise.
8. Delivery
We deliver to selected destinations in Europe and worldwide.
Shipping charges, delivery times, shipping restrictions and customs information are described in our Shipping & Delivery policy.
We aim to dispatch orders as soon as reasonably possible after payment has been received.
If no specific delivery date has been agreed, applicable consumer law regarding delivery deadlines applies.
Once an order has been handed over to the shipping carrier, delivery is subject to the carrier's handling and delivery procedures.
Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights in relation to delayed or non-delivered orders.
9. Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you generally have the statutory right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days without giving a reason.
For goods, the withdrawal period generally begins on the day you, or a person designated by you, receives the goods.

If you exercise your statutory right of withdrawal, we will process your refund in accordance with applicable law.
Unless otherwise required by law, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning goods when exercising the right of withdrawal.

All products sold by MONO JAPAN STORE are covered by the statutory consumer guarantees applicable under EU and Dutch law.
Products must conform to the contract and correspond to the description, quality and performance that a consumer can reasonably expect.
