Taste the snow country of Fukushima with this elegant gift set from Narayā, one of the Aizu region's most celebrated traditional noodle makers. Featuring three distinct textures and traditional cutting styles, this collection brings the authentic Japanese soba house experience straight to your kitchen.
What’s Inside:
Tachisoba (rustic thick-cut): hearty, country-style noodles with a satisfyingly rustic chew and uneven edges that hold onto dipping sauces perfectly.
Okuaizu Soba (classic mountain style): thin, elegant noodles made with premium local buckwheat and mountain water, offering a delightfully firm bite and incredibly smooth finish.
Hikitatetenihachi (freshly ground 8:2 ratio): The gold standard of soba. Slender noodles made with 80% freshly ground buckwheat and 20% wheat for a rich, earthy aroma and snappy texture.
Contents: 3 individual packages (each package is 200g)
How to cook
Bring 1L of water to a boil for every serving (100g = 1 serving). Add noodles gently and stir so they don’t stick. Lower heat slightly so it doesn't boil over.
For Tachisoba (thick): boil for 8 minutes. For Okuaizu / Hikitatetenihachi (thin): boil for 4 minutes.
Drain immediately into a colander. Rinse thoroughly under cold running water while gently rubbing the noodles to remove excess starch. Drain well and serve cold with dipping sauce, or add to a hot broth.
