Prix régulier €8.50 Solde

A Noh performer wearing a hakama skirt in a court scene. An unfortunate father who commits suicide to redeem the honour of his daughter. Acted by Ichikawa Ebizo, a leading Kabuki actor of the late 18th century.

The artist behind this ukiyo-e (woodblock print), Toshusai Sharaku, is one of Japan’s greatest mysteries. His short career was only 10-months from the years 1794 and 1795, but during this time he managed to produce about 145 different woodblock prints.
