The Asiatic black bear, found in Honshu, gives birth during hibernation and nurses her cubs without eating or drinking throughout the winter. In autumn, they feast on acorns, while in spring, they enjoy the fresh buds of beech trees. Though they live deep in the mountains, they may come down to the villages in search of food when supplies are scarce.
The term "postcard" comes from "hashigaki," meaning "edge writing." Originally, it referred to written notes or memos on small pieces of paper. Our postcards from Rokushido are crafted from Echizen Washi and depict the vibrant seasonal landscapes of Japan using colorful washi paper.
