"Sukeroku: Kawarasaki Gonjūrō" by Utagawa Kunisada
The kabuki play "Sukeroku" tells the story of Soga Gorō, who disguises himself as a toseinin (a traveling man) to pursue a stolen treasured sword. This festive drama showcases the talents of Ichikawa Danjūrō and features Sukeroku's grand entrance, dancing under an umbrella as he makes his way along the hanamichi (flower path). It is a beloved work among Edo's common people.

Our postcards, based on Echizen Washi, illustrate Japanese culture using vibrant colored washi paper. The first theme is "Ukiyo-e."
The term "postcard" comes from "hashigaki," meaning "edge writing." Originally, it referred to written notes or memos on small pieces of paper.
