Crafted through the LOCAL FABRIC project, this T-shirt combines traditional Japanese techniques with everyday functionality.
Fabric
Made in Wakayama using a rare vintage loopwheel knitting machine, the fabric is produced at an exceptionally slow pace—just one T-shirt per hour. This gentle process avoids excess tension on the yarn, resulting in a soft, airy texture with natural elasticity.
The fabric is tightly knitted for durability and opacity, offering a substantial feel without heaviness. Thanks to the use of air-spun yarn, it maintains a dry, breathable touch that stays comfortable even in warmer seasons.
Garment Wash
Each piece is garment-washed in Saijo, Ehime—known for its exceptionally pure water sourced from the Ishizuchi mountain range. This soft water, combined with an enzyme-based washing process, removes impurities while preserving the integrity of the cotton.
Finished without chemical softeners, the fabric gains improved absorbency and a clean, smooth feel against the skin.
Bringing together regional craftsmanship from Wakayama and Ehime, this T-shirt reflects LOCAL FABRIC’s approach: reconnecting traditional techniques to create garments designed for everyday use, comfort, and longevity.
