This soap is made from material normally discarded in silk production. The maker cultivates mulberry trees in Gunma, Japan, where we aim to develop 100% local silk. The mulberry leaves are eaten by silkworms, which shed their skin several times to produce cocoons. A part of the proceeds of the soap goes to the development of sericulture in Gunma.
