Saury "san-ma" are thin and flat fish of about about 35 cm long. They have beak-shaped jaws, shiny scales, and can be found in the waters around Japan where they swim in large groups. People enjoy it grilled with salt especially in autumn, but it is also gets broiled in a soy-based sauce and used for "Kabayaki".

The patches can be ironed on cotton and polyester materials. Use a damp cloth under the iron when ironing, and be extra careful if you are ironing on heat-sensitive materials. Machine-stitching is recommended to enhance strength.
