ICHI-MATSU

The "ICHIMATSU" pattern is a traditional Japanese design consisting of alternating square blocks arranged vertically and horizontally in a checkered layout.

It symbolizes harmony and stability, and has been used in various crafts such as kimono, architectural elements, and ceramics.

"TENUGUI" is a hand-dyed rectangular cloth that has been used daily in Japan since ancient times.

"KOMON" means "small patterns" in Japanese, and this collection features a series of "TENUGUI" adorned with these traditional KOMON designs.

Many of these KOMON patterns are traditional motifs cherished by common people for over 100 years. Each pattern has its own name and meaning, carrying a unique story behind it.
