SUGI-AYA

“SUGI-AYA” is a traditional Japanese pattern featuring diagonal intersecting lines that resemble the shape of cedar leaves. It has been used for centuries in architectural beams and textile designs, embodying both strength and beauty.

"TENUGUI" is a hand-dyed rectangular cloth that has been used daily in Japan since ancient times.

"KOMON" means "small patterns" in Japanese, and this collection features a series of "TENUGUI" adorned with these traditional KOMON designs.

Many of these KOMON patterns are traditional motifs cherished by common people for over 100 years. Each pattern has its own name and meaning, carrying a unique story behind it.
