YOROKE-JIMA

The traditional Japanese pattern called "YOROKE-JIMA" features wavy, undulating stripes.

The word "YOROKE" describes the wave-like bending, while "JIMA" means stripes. This pattern is distinctive for its curved, flowing lines that create a unique and dynamic striped design.

"TENUGUI" is a hand-dyed rectangular cloth that has been used daily in Japan since ancient times.

"KOMON" means "small patterns" in Japanese, and this collection features a series of "TENUGUI" adorned with these traditional KOMON designs.

Many of these KOMON patterns are traditional motifs cherished by common people for over 100 years. Each pattern has its own name and meaning, carrying a unique story behind it.
