As traditional lifestyles change, the demand for Montsuki garments has declined. To preserve this heritage, Kyoto Montsuki now offers a new service: giving new life to your worn or stained clothes by dyeing them deep black.

KUROZOME REWEAR from KYOTO

For over 100 years, from 1915, Kyoto Montsuki has been dyeing only black montsuki, which is Japanese traditional formal wear. Montsuki market has experienced a steady decline along with the changes in lifestyles. To preserve this traditional industry, they believe it is necessary to adapt their styles to appeal to changing tastes while protecting core techniques. Through trial and error, they innovated techniques for various materials such as cotton, linen, wool, and stretch denim.

MATERIAL INSTRUCTION 

*We can accept items that contain 50% or more dyeable materials (natural fibers). We cannot accept items that contain less than 50%, but we may be able to dye them under the condition that they will not be dyed completely black. We may also be able to dye clothing whose composition is unknown. Please contact us for details.

About color unevenness and attachments

Please bring your clothes directly to the store or send them to the store. Please include a note with your name and receipt number along with the garment you are sending. Please check the detailed instructions on our webpage.

HOW TO APPLY

1. APPLY: Please read the material instructions very carefully before applying. After applying, please send us your clothing.
2. SHIPPING OF CLOTHING. Please bring your clothes directly to the store or send them to the store. Please include a note with your name and receipt number along with the garment you are sending.
3. CLOTHING INSPECTION AFTER ARRIVAL. After receiving the item, we will inspect each item one by one. We will contact you only if there is a problem with the dyeing.
4. DYING The unique "deep black processing" is done by craftsmen one by one.
   
   
5. CLOTHING SHIPPING TO CUSTOMER *Please note that it may take up to one and a half months to ship your order, depending on how busy we are.

About shipping

• This service does not offer free shipping for purchases over 80 euros.
• Please bring your clothes to the store or send them to the store at your own expense.
• If you are sending it to a store, be sure to save the tracking code.　We cannot take any responsibility for the loss of clothing before it arrives at the store. 
• If we receive clothing that cannot be dyed, we will return it to you, and you will be responsible for the shipping costs. In that case, the product price will be refunded.
